Sommelier Notes

When you hear talk of small vineyards, you don't often think that it comes from just three hectares. This producer has a very small output of less than 1000 cases a year. Planted in 1994 on red basalt soils, the original dry-grown blocks produce wines with a beautiful floral elegance, layered with ripe red fruits and a distinct savouriness. An intensely perfumed, floral nose with red fruits and fine spices. A complex palate with an extensive flavour profile, highlighted by red berries/cherries and well integrated tannins, followed by a long powerful finish.

Description

This wine is already displaying such potential in its youth, with great structure and depth. It has a complex bouquet of pure ripe red fruits, with sweet wood smoke and floral rose petal aromas. The palette is silky and persistent; showing mingled red berry fruits, fine spice and long chalky tannins on the finish.
Be patient as this wine is still very young, great chance to buy and store within our facilities.

Otherwise if you can’t resist, it will benefit from decanting.
